INVISALIGN® CAN CORRECT THE ALIGNMENT OF YOUR TEETH

To address minor deviations in the alignment of your teeth in a short amount of time, Dr. Tim Garofolo can fit you for Invisalign® orthodontic aligners in our San Diego office. They are made from a durable clear plastic material that fits perfectly with the shape of your teeth. You will need to switch out to a new set of aligners every two weeks. Each one will gradually move your teeth a little closer to their ideal position.

The process starts with Dr. Tim Garofolo examining your mouth. This helps to determine the overall health of your teeth and determine the number of aligners needed to correct the position of your teeth. Our dental team will then create a detailed impression of your teeth. This will be sent to a special Invisalign® laboratory where orthodontic technicians will develop a series of custom aligner trays.

You will need to wear Invisalign® for 20 to 22 hours each day to maximize the realignment effect. As long as you are wearing the aligners during the prescribed times, you should expect to meet your alignment goals in around six to eight weeks.

While you have Invisalign® in your mouth, you can drink normally. However, you will need to remove them before you eat. You should never smoke or chew gum while the aligners are in your mouth. When you’re not wearing them, you should keep the aligners in the case provided.
