Using Innovative Technology to Save You Time

Dental Crowns. It isn’t the typical conversation you might have in a social setting. Most people don’t realize that this is needed until they are in pain, notice a cracked tooth, or are at a routine dental exam. Fortunately, at The Dentistry Collective, we offer the convenience and technology to create and insert crowns during the same visit.

Traditionally, the dental crown process is time-consuming, requires multiple appointments, and uses temporary crowns in the interim. Technological advancements, like CEREC technology, paved the way for dental crowns to be done in the same visit. No need for uncomfortable temporary crowns or additional appointments. A CAD/CAM-based program allows for a more accurate digital scan than traditional impressions which results in a better fitting crown. In our dental office, our dentists design the crown chairside and make adjustments during the same visit. Our guests save time and additional costs incurred from supplementary appointments. The dental studio is equipped with multiple units to create more than one crown. This significantly reduces production time while adding to the overall guest experience.

same day dental crowns

There is a common confusion between crowns, onlays, and veneers. Our dentists are very cognizant about preserving as much tooth structure as possible. An onlay covers only a portion of the tooth and is only used to conserve tooth structure. Dental veneers cover the front of the tooth and only a small portion of the backside. The materials and methods are identical to crowns; however, veneers are reserved for the anterior or front teeth. A dental crown covers the entire surface of the tooth and the cusps that are used for chewing. This allows for an extended life span of the tooth. We ensure this longevity by accurately fitting the porcelain crown to the prepared tooth which gives you long-lasting, natural results. Therefore, porcelain dental crowns are stronger and more aesthetically pleasing than traditional crowns.

The same-day crown procedure takes approximately an hour to an hour and a half compared to the traditional multiple weeks of appointments. Located in North County San Diego, we focus on providing an extraordinary experience with each visit. If you are hesitant to start this process, we are happy to answer any further questions you might have and schedule your consultation with one of our dentists.
